Lockheed Lounge sent in by alert reader T-Bone (one love) was designed by Marc Newson in 1986 is a timeless piece of furniture that looks INCREDIBLY uncomfortable!! But, it was designed by Marc Newson...which carries a tremendous amount of weight.
Designers are now rock stars...I wouldn't be suprised if Newson had groupies! Nike, hired him to design a shoe, based on a rocket, and named after the first dog in space(Zvezdochka) The shoes remind me of plastic water shoes, but apparently they are revolutionary.
The Design Museum is featuring his work in London right now.
