I just watched James Lipton interview Dave Chappelle on Inside the Actor's Studio and it was awesome! I know it aired some time ago, but I just watched it on my iPod and was blown away by it. If you have been reading BrainBlenders over the years then you know I am a Chappelle fan, all the way back to his stand-up days. Of course, The Chappelle Show was the culmination of his artistic expression for me. There are some undefinable traits his comedy has, which are very similar in seeing a guy get kicked in the junk, kinda painful and hilarious at the same time. That alone probably says a lot about my maturity, but what can I say it just makes me crack up.
But the interview he gave Lipton was powerful because of his authenticity. He just "keeps it real". Seriously, you want to see a guy like that, who just wants to make folks laugh, do well. The money is obviously not his main driver...and something about that refreshes me.
That was one of the most moving interviews I have ever seen. Period. If you don't get it, you don't get it...

Seriously doosh...I think he looked like a dude with nothing to prove. Might be the same look, now that I think of it.

I dig Chappelle and he is hillarious, but the dude looked like he was on crack during the interview.
